Cancer survivor, athlete, husband and father, Bernard Haarhoff has been involved with the Jumping Kids since 2009 – an inspiration to all that know him.
Berno lost his right leg in 2008 after a two year battle with cancer.
He survived several chemo-treatments and 13 operations before the decision to amputate was (reluctantly) made.
There and then, he decided to continue to pursue his dream of representing South Africa .. and .. he did just that by setting two African records at the IPC World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2011.
